If this may be of any help to anyone (apart from myself, since I know this already), you can plot a sin^2 x graph on TI GDCs by entering y = (sinX)^2
Yep, just in case.
My brother's such a nose. After reading about Bill Gates being the richest man in the world in the Guinness Book of World records he has been asking endless questions related to him and people with lots of money in general- "How many cars does Bill Gates have?" "Can Bill Gates buy Singapore?" "If I was really really really rich could I buy my own island?" (I think he got that idea from reading the Boxcar children.) He's really into the idea of getting loads of money, I think. It's amazing how important money's become in the minds of most people. Incidentally, a good way to get money would be to write a get-rich-quick book and then to sell millions of copies of it. wahahaha.
I'm halfway through my weekend homework, 0% through piano viola or my english homework. Science and Math is so much more straightforward, so I like to finish that stuff first (apart from homework on respiration, which is c-o-n-f-u-s-i-n-g). So now I'm stuck with an essay plan and a comparison table for Act1Scene7 of Macbeth. Joy! Not.
Okay, so yesterday evening was really fun! Got stuck in the traffic (it's amazing how congested it was, havent seen such bad traffic since it snowed in Beijing!) and was rather late, and by the time we arrived most people were eating and very noisy. So we parked ourselves in a nice corner, set up our stands and instruments and played our pieces! It was pretty dim and noisy and all- not your ideal performance setting at all- but it was fun. I did enjoy it. And after 10 minutes of performance (and, mind you, around 1 hour of travel before that) we got to have dinner! It was a cool buffet thing. The table was set up with so many forks and knives and stuff that I was slightly overwhelmed. And we missed the starters and appetizers and stuff and went straight into a BBQ dinner! Which was good, though we missed the sushi which we heard was the best. But anyways, I ate so much that I couldnt even eat those cute cakes and stuff they had for dessert! I had this huge potato that I couldn't finish. By the time everyone else had gone and gotten cakes and tarts etc I was still struggling with my potato, but.. I finished it in the end! =D
And then the four of us went wandering through the hotel grounds- up, down the paths in the slight drizzle; the cool evening darkness was comfortable. After that we went walking around the hotel to check out the ballrooms we might use for Formal, and tried sneaking into a room which we thought was a hotel room that we could raid- i mean explore- but that turned out to be an empty function room. We also found this cool unlocked grand piano on the second floor which we wanted to play but decided against doing so because we figured we'd probably be murdered by The Management. Wahaha. And then we wandered a bit more, and got sent home! Had a really great time
Then I got home and told my parents that I wanted to stay and board but my mom said there's no chance of that. So I got pretty pooped again. Well, this morning I talked some things over with my mom and though it hasn't made me feel, like, better about things the talk has helped put some things into perspective, and I figure there's absolutely nothing I can do about certain things. So I might as well let them be. At some times this stuff feels sad and irritating and all, but at others I feel sensible and rational enough to tell myself that life's like this! And after all, these things do pass. Well, maybe.
But strangely enough, some part of me doesn't want this to pass- because that would mean that however special this feels now, it will be over some day because after all it is and has always been just another ordinary feeling. All along- something destined to be worn away by time and tide (on an unrelated note, the gravitational force from the moon!!)
Off to do piano- Dad just woke up from nap and is grumpy, irritable and trying to push me off the computer. He's really amusing. Haha!
