2/03 day is in 2 days. im really looking forward to the whole time capsule sealing thing. especially cause there's really not much else to look forward to. maybe OBS, but that'll be over soon, and even then, i have a bad feeling that (something)'s going to come soon. and after that? i shall take on the job of being a full time champion sucker. how terribly exciting.
anyways, i'm still missing 203 a lot. 306's a really nice class, but i can't help but miss the old dudes. bahh. that reminds me, can anyone remember what we did on 2/03/05?
Last day of February 2006! and after it's gone it's not coming back.

SQUIRRELMAIL SUCKS.
the ivle mail system is utterly DEPLORABLE. for one thing, my inbox is full. so, fine, my fault, i'll clear it. except when i try clearing it it says that the disk quota's exceeded and so it cant delete. so i have to manually delete my emails one by one by one (160 mails) and even so not all emails can be deleted. and i cant open my inbox because of this. and i have an impt email to read!! ACK. ivle mail suck sucks sucks.
but still, it's kind of interesting clearing my inbox cos ive got a heckuva lotta mails from sec 1 that are quite fun to read, even though the language used in it is not all that fantastic. (:
today was a shitty day:( though i liked the rain! :D

today i realised how horribly impatient i am. i wonder how some people can stand saying the same thing over and over and over again and receiving the same uncomprehending response. it's IRRITATING. very , very irritating. sorry for getting so pissed with you, i know it wasnt exactly your fault.
my dad went to hanoi today! he's coming back wednesday :D

i just made the most fascinating, epoch- making discovery ever! (ok fine that's kind of exaggerated but still) i found one of the most wonderful books i've ever laid eyes on----- on my bookshelf! :D i know it sounds corny, but it's true. it's this book called 'talking to the sun' and it's an anthology of classic and contemporary poems and art from the metropolitan museum of art. i got it when i was 8 or so and for some reason i never got to reading it proper but i will now!! :D:D
mum made dumplings and rice wine for dinner. yum! the rice wine was a little too much on the sweet side so i couldn't drink enough to get drunk, sadly. :(

HAN HATES HOMEWORK IIhomework is so CRAP. this morning i tried to get started but everything i looked at was psycho and the to-do list was psycho too and i started feeling psycho as well, and really sucky too. here's what's to be done before the end of week 8:
1. physics mini project. that means research, scavenge for materials, build thingy, write report and take care it doesnt break before the deadlines (who cares about it after that :D)
2. LA analysis of centre of the universe.
3. math RAFT assignment which requires something like a LOVE POEM describing the relationship between complex and real roots. a sentimental but still extremely informative piece of poetry. something like that. and the worst part is that my concept's all fuzzy and i dunno how im going to pull it off.
4. PDD presentation.
5. Lit Assignment
6. IH/LA SIA proposal
and then 4 tests to study for and guess what's so exciting ?MATH AND CHINESE are on the same day! wow! isnt that so cool?
crapcrapcrapcrapcrap.
mind you, i still have piano and CCA to worry about! :(
bleh. i guess i'd better stop slacking now and get started.
PS last night's concert was nice. quite inspiring! mr chan is so cool :D

i just finished my IH essay! what it means to be a citizen of canada. i was hoping i could do 'citizen of the world' cos i really dunno what to write about being canadian. i mean, i've spent 2/3 of my life outside canada (and the later 10 years too) so i've no particular notion of what it means. but the essay required me to be specific about whichever country i was writing about, so i had no choice. was seriously tempted to crap a line or two about 'i was born there and spent most of my life out of it so the only thing i know about what it means to be canadian is that i have a different colour passport and pay more school fees and so i cant write the essay so bye' but that wouldn't get me anywhere so i ended up looking up the constitution and crapping about all the freedom and equality thingies. and the essay got me wondering, 'where's home?' is it where i was born? where my parents come from (all that'motherland' talk) or where i've spent most of my life? i'm really not too sure. but i guess i've the most feelings attached to singapore cos i've lived here for so long and know so many wonderful people here. yup.
if you read this, could you do me a favour and check out
http://the-adventures-of-irene-and-jiaying.blogspot.com/ (toot blog) and read and comment on the poem please? it would be quite appreciated. :)
i read and finished two books today! the colour purple by alice walker and dear mr henshaw by beverly cleary. the latter's quite a kiddy book and the words were big (pictures too!) so i finished it real quick. but i really liked both books! they're very honest and heartfelt.
oh man, my life's really screwing up. ack. its really quite depressing
but anyways, happy birthday to hoxy and wee! :D

Infinite. These solitary hills have always been dear to me.
Seated here, this sweet hedge,
which blocks the distant horizon opening inner silences
and interminable distances.
I plunge in thought to where my heart, frightened,
pulls back.
Like the wind which I hear
tossing the trembling plants which surround me,
a voice from the inner depths of spirit
shakes the certitudes of thought.
Eternity breaks through time,
past and present intermingle in her image.
In the inner shadows I lose myself,
drowning in the sea-
depths of timeless love.
Giacomo Leopardi
you know what i like? it's the period that comes after the word 'infinite'. it's almost ironic, isnt it? it's also nice when things like love are compared to the sea and stuff, so open and beautiful (even though a bit dangerous).
