So today's the last day of the first month of the year! Funny how quickly the month has gone by, I hardly noticed it. Am halfway through the week again, for the who-knows-how-many'th time and all I feel is.. bland. (Like a bromide!)
Off to do viola! and there's a performance tmr, I hope it's not too cold or I will be Very Out of Tune (noooooo......)

A Golden DayI Found you and I lost you,
All on a gleaming day.
The day was filled with sunshine,
And the land was full of May.
A golden bird was singing
Its melody divine,
I found you and I loved you,
And all the world was mine.
I found you and I lost you,
All on a golden day,
But when I dream of you, dear,
It is always brimming May.
Paul Laurence Dunbar

It was so very windy today!
Maybe everything'll blow over with the cool wind, to a place where memories can remain safe forever- undamaged by time, or human change.Maybe one day, I'll find that place,And find you too.I like to stand in the wind thinking about that.
Among other things, of course. HOMEWORK! My music composition is due first period and I am
far from done. I have decided that the only way to not get myself killed is to go to school super early tomorrow and do it before 8.10. Wish me luck..!

Amusing.
Anyways, hail the vegetarian, hail to thee!
Er.. okay that was rather relevant..!
After watching videos on this site (during Geography, too) I have absolutely no desire to ever touch beef burgers again. Check it out! www.themeatrix.com
Am STUFFED! Gorged myself on sashimi and stuff for dinner. Parents bought some sashimi and we had a nice japanese dinner at home. Ate too much, I think. But it's really cool, apart from omelette there was absolutely no oil in my dinner! What say you, eh?
And now I will go exercise and have the glycogen in my body turned to ATP and then broken down into carbon dioxide and water with hopefully minimum amounts of lactic acid! Or something like that.

If this may be of any help to anyone (apart from myself, since I know this already), you can plot a sin^2 x graph on TI GDCs by entering y = (sinX)^2
Yep, just in case.
My brother's such a nose. After reading about Bill Gates being the richest man in the world in the Guinness Book of World records he has been asking endless questions related to him and people with lots of money in general- "How many cars does Bill Gates have?" "Can Bill Gates buy Singapore?" "If I was really really really rich could I buy my own island?" (I think he got that idea from reading the Boxcar children.) He's really into the idea of getting loads of money, I think. It's amazing how important money's become in the minds of most people. Incidentally, a good way to get money would be to write a get-rich-quick book and then to sell millions of copies of it. wahahaha.
I'm halfway through my weekend homework, 0% through piano viola or my english homework. Science and Math is so much more straightforward, so I like to finish that stuff first (apart from homework on respiration, which is c-o-n-f-u-s-i-n-g). So now I'm stuck with an essay plan and a comparison table for Act1Scene7 of Macbeth. Joy! Not.
Okay, so yesterday evening was really fun! Got stuck in the traffic (it's amazing how congested it was, havent seen such bad traffic since it snowed in Beijing!) and was rather late, and by the time we arrived most people were eating and very noisy. So we parked ourselves in a nice corner, set up our stands and instruments and played our pieces! It was pretty dim and noisy and all- not your ideal performance setting at all- but it was fun. I did enjoy it. And after 10 minutes of performance (and, mind you, around 1 hour of travel before that) we got to have dinner! It was a cool buffet thing. The table was set up with so many forks and knives and stuff that I was slightly overwhelmed. And we missed the starters and appetizers and stuff and went straight into a BBQ dinner! Which was good, though we missed the sushi which we heard was the best. But anyways, I ate so much that I couldnt even eat those cute cakes and stuff they had for dessert! I had this huge potato that I couldn't finish. By the time everyone else had gone and gotten cakes and tarts etc I was still struggling with my potato, but.. I finished it in the end! =D
And then the four of us went wandering through the hotel grounds- up, down the paths in the slight drizzle; the cool evening darkness was comfortable. After that we went walking around the hotel to check out the ballrooms we might use for Formal, and tried sneaking into a room which we thought was a hotel room that we could raid- i mean explore- but that turned out to be an empty function room. We also found this cool unlocked grand piano on the second floor which we wanted to play but decided against doing so because we figured we'd probably be murdered by The Management. Wahaha. And then we wandered a bit more, and got sent home! Had a really great time
Then I got home and told my parents that I wanted to stay and board but my mom said there's no chance of that. So I got pretty pooped again. Well, this morning I talked some things over with my mom and though it hasn't made me feel, like, better about things the talk has helped put some things into perspective, and I figure there's absolutely nothing I can do about certain things. So I might as well let them be. At some times this stuff feels sad and irritating and all, but at others I feel sensible and rational enough to tell myself that life's like this! And after all, these things do pass. Well, maybe.
But strangely enough, some part of me doesn't want this to pass- because that would mean that however special this feels now, it will be over some day because after all it is and has always been just another ordinary feeling. All along- something destined to be worn away by time and tide (on an unrelated note, the gravitational force from the moon!!)
Off to do piano- Dad just woke up from nap and is grumpy, irritable and trying to push me off the computer. He's really amusing. Haha!

Waited for you, but you didn't come.Ah well, guess I should get a move on.
Crap my eyes look puffy! I didn't cry, mind you. Going to bed early tonight, or so I hope. And that's after I finish the large amount of homework from monday+tues+fri which I didn't have the time to do yesterday/overtheweekend/on monday. Most grade 10 dudes are lucky they don't have to come to school on Friday. Wish I didn't have to, either.
Pooped.

So my blog hasn't been lost in complete obscurity after all. Hi Fausty!! =D
Chinese exam 2 today. Wasnt
too bad, since I actually finished it. And it was really, really long (2h15min)! We were the last to leave the exam hall, and had to endure the hustle-bustle (and subsequent excited screams/noise) every time another group of students left the hall. It was so COLD! My teeth were chattering when I came out of the room.
I thought that this Chinese exam would mean
free period! but no no no it ate into my lunch break instead. And I had to go talk to my physics teacher about the test on Friday, so in the end I had less than 5 minutes to wolf down a little glutinous-chicken-rice thingum in an uncivilised manner. Thought I was late for Math but when I entered the room I found havoc instead. Wallet-stealing. Hm. Very.. grand. We did Math-Aerobics! That was so obscure. I don't even remember how we ended up doing that! Think someone looked bored and my math teacher said "well let's do Math-Aerobic-Simon-Says!" and we all had to get up (I admit I was quite enthusiastic!) and some dudes like Timpanoot stayed seated until my teacher threatened to lower their grades (=DDDD). And then, my teacher said something like y=2x+3 and we had to stretch our arms out in the shape of that particular graph! The sinx graph was groovy. Actually, the idea of it was, the actual graphs
we did were pretty.. floppy.
For orchestra we're doing this piece that Nyse did when we had that concert with HCI, except now instead of 10+ violas/violists there's... 1. Me. Very exciting. Most people in school play the violin so they're really short of violas, and hence I have gotten roped into quartets and stuff quite a few times. I don't actually mind, playing is fun, but I feel inferior! You've got all these super-pro people and me-one-of-the-only-violists-in-school. A
fantastic feeling, I tell you. But I suppose it's motivation to practise viola more, and that's something rather necessary.
My memory is letting me down! Today I went to practise on my piano teacher's grand
grand piano with ivory keys (that are yellow because they're so old) and less than halfway through the Nocturne I was playing (and have played hundreds of times) my memory went -blank- and I had to run off to get the score. Obviously, my teacher was less than pleased. And i was pooped.
Right. Anyways, I've got a free period tomorrow because my Chinese exam's over (but I'll probably be trapped in the library) so I'm looking forward to that! Think I'll write a letter to my cousin. Should've done that
ages ago, though. And I'll be off to practise my viola now! =)

I just changed my profile! =)
Anyways, some random dude gave my dad bak kwa (however you spell that) that's neatly packaged in bite sized-pieces. I ate some just now and it's pretty good! Out of habit I inspect the packaging of whatever I'm eating, so I looked at that one too. It was in Chinese, so I could understand only half the names of the ingredients. The last few were obscure chemical names and looked quite scary. It's bad enough to see them in English and know you're
consuming them, but to see them in Chinese is worse, because their obscurity is intensified by your lack-of-knowledge. Ah well. I actually found the wrapper slightly perverted. There was a happy cartoon pig in chef's costume under the words 'dried pork meat' or something like that. I always find such ideas perverted- it's as if the pig's happily going 'I just cooked my best friend! Come eat!'
Anyways, I'm off to find a new graphing device. My efofex subscription has expired, graphmatica is not usable for some reason, and my graphing calculator can't do sin^2 for some reason. It's annoying.

Well yesterday I only played my piano and wasted the rest of my afternoon/evening/night away doing who-knows-what. Quite annoying. I keep wasting time that way! Stoning, I suppose. Maybe it's a phase.
I'm here wasting time again. Am supposed to be doing ITOK with Timpanoot but she's 17 minutes late (and counting!) So I am sitting here and playing 2 songs on repeat and watching the clock at my elbow ticking. Tick, tick, tick... There go the seconds, minutes, hours.... Goodbye time-just-passed.
Sorry I sound so.. (insert word here. The only word i can think of is the sound
duh that Jiaying's good at making) Am half awake and have been this way for about the whole week. Especially after yesterday's Chinese exam. Now when I think of it I feel horrible. Blah.
It was raining when I on my way home from school! I decided to walk back from the terminal, so on the way I had some time to think some things over. That didn't make me feel better, nor more awake, but at least I feel I've kind of sorted something out. BUt anyways, it was raining on the 11th of January last year too. This time last year wub and I were probably trudging around Lim Chu Kang getting ourselves drenched. That still feels so recent. My socks are wet again but not with the same rain. Hm.
33 minutes late.. I think I'll go do the rest of my homework first. And hound her later =D

I'm back! Bet no one missed me but oh well =)
Chinese exam today. Compo part, at least. Well it was going pretty well until I realised that even after the French/Spanish teachers'd announced that there were only 30 min left for the F/S students
nothing had been said about the Chinese students. So I waited for a little while, looked around, and caught the teacher standing waaay in front saying in what sounded like a bare whisper, 'Chinese students, 5 more minutes' Geez was I annoyed. I ended up frantically rushing my compo and handed it in with a long draggy intro and the conclusion squeezed into barely 3 sentences. I feel depressed. Have got another exam next tuesday. Might I say that the exam hall is scary? It's big and has got tables arranged excessively neatly in rows and rows and rows and once the exam starts everyone's quiet and though there are so many in the room you feel almost completely alone.
I've finished my homework already. There wasn't much to do. Now all i've got to do is practise piano and viola (and that's really necessary because I am in quite a few ensembles and am highly likely to ruin all the songs because of my out-of-tune playing) and maybe do some Japanese!
I feel really old. Sixteen in, what, 4 months+? Sixteen. Sixteen. Hm.
Emotion is so fickle, but why do I find myself guided by it so often? Annoying.
Getting random. Will be off for now
you began to wonder why you came
